Sonali is an award-winning playwright and screenwriter whose productions include Chasing Hares (Young Vic), Two Billion Beats (Orange Tree Theatre), Megaball (National Theatre Learning), Assembly and 2066 (both for Almeida Theatre), The Invisible Boy (Kiln Theatre) and White Open Spaces (Pentabus Theatre). Sonali is currently under commission to the Bristol Old Vic, Chichester Festival Theatre, Fifth Word, Kali Theatre and have a drama series in development with Dancing Ledge Productions and an Augmented Reality project in development with Anagram.

Sonali is interested in dramatising the people’s history, and putting characters centre stage who have previously been obscured. Stories allow us to imagine different ways of living, and that act of imagination is the first step to changing the world.
