Hot off the press! New photoshoot for Sinatra The Musical

We are thrilled to reveal dramatic new images of the three lead cast members in Sinatra The Musical which offer a glimpse of the glamour and passion audiences will experience when the production’s world premiere opens on Sat 23 Sep.

Tony Award-winning actor Matt Doyle will play Frank Sinatra, with Ana Villafañe as the movie goddess Ava Gardner and Phoebe Panaretos as Frank’s first wife, Nancy Sinatra.

These new images introduce the stars that will bring to life the dramatic unfolding of a crucial period in Sinatra’s life. As Sinatra’s career suddenly skyrockets, he struggles with balancing the love of his wife, Nancy, against the demands and temptations of being the most popular singer in America.

When news of his torrid affair with Ava Gardner breaks, his records stop selling and the press turn against him, sending his career into a tailspin. Driven by his devotion to his family, Sinatra employs his peerless artistry and dogged determination to stage the greatest comeback in showbiz history.

Commenting on his role as Frank Sinatra, Matt Doyle said:

It’s a story about personal struggle and professional struggle and one that I think a lot of people can relate to in many different ways.”

This new production invites audiences to discover a different side to the Frank Sinatra story, one that goes beyond the show business veneer to shine a light on the very real lives of these extraordinary people who were more than their media profile.

Sinatra The Musical, which runs until Sat 28 Oct, is written by the two-time Tony award-winning writer Joe DiPietro (Memphis the Musical, What’s New Pussycat?), directed and choreographed by three-time Tony Award-winning Kathleen Marshall (Wonderful Town, Anything Goes) and the set is designed by Olivier Award-winning Peter McKintosh (Crazy for You, Orlando).

The orchestra of 17 musicians, who will play live onstage, will be supervised by Gareth Valentine (My Fair Lady, 42nd Street).
