New Year, New Shows on Sale
Despite what the weather is telling us, here at The Rep the Winter season is behind us and our Spring 2025 season is fast approaching, with our first received show Birdsong arriving on Mon 27 Jan, and our first Rep produced show of the year, Community, arriving later that week on Thu 30 Jan!
But we can’t start this stunning Spring season without revealing a couple of surprises… SEVEN surprises to be exact!
The Importance of Being Earnest

Oscar Wilde‘s most celebrated work, The Importance of Being Earnest starring three-time Olivier Award-winner Sharon D Clarke and Ncuti Gatwa (Doctor Who, Sex Education) will be coming to the big screen, right here at The Rep this March!
Filmed live from the National Theatre in London, sit back and enjoy this joyful reimagining of Oscar Wilde’s hilarious story of identity, impersonation and romance.

Everyone Wants To Be Ronaldo

Set in the suburbs of Birmingham, Everybody Wants To Be Ronaldo, is a a raucous, high-octane Grime-sical (That’s right..) following footballing protégée, Curtis, after he receives the call to say that he won’t be getting a professional footballing contract.
Tensions rise between Curtis and his dedicated Mom, things take a dark turn and his only saviour is … the mystical, raving, Diego Maradona?
What's My Ident?

Written and performed by Aaron Virdeen, What’s My Ident? – is an enlightening window into Aaron’s own journey towards self-discovery as he struggles with his sexuality as well as being a hard of hearing Punjabi lad from Wolverhampton.
In this poignant, emotionally unfiltered, yet funny play, Aaron is joined by a talented supporting cast, ready to take you on a journey through his struggles and his laughter.
Dr Strangelove

The world premiere stage adaptation of Stanley Kubrick’s comedy masterpiece Dr. Strangelove, will be coming to the big screen, right here at The Rep this April!
Seven-time BAFTA Award-winner Steve Coogan (Alan Partridge, The Trip), stars in this explosively funny satirical comedy about a rogue U.S General who triggers a nuclear attack in four different roles.

Showstopper! The Improvised Musical

Arriving directly from the West End, Showstopper! The Improvised Musical will be taking over The House stage to create a 100% improvised, and fully realized musical live using audience suggestions. For two performances only, the cast of Showstopper! The Improvised Musical will transform suggestions from the audience into an all-singing, all-dancing musical.
Full of the sweeping storylines, dazzling dance, soaring songs, hilarious characters you’d expect from a West End musical – the only difference is that everything is made up on the spot!
YOU KNOW MY MUM

For two days only in The Door, Local Coventry-based EGO Arts will be staging YOU KNOW MY MUM – a cheeky comedy about life and death, for all the family!
The story follows Bluey, a baby bird, and Alex, a 25-year-old year old woman with Down’s syndrome who is struggling with the death of her mum, and is performed by a cast of neurodivergent and/or learning-disabled actors. This production has been devised to be as accessible as possible for cast and audience members alike.
Codebreakers: The Story of the ENGIMA

ENIGMA machine expert Dr Mark Baldwin will be presenting Codebreakers – The Story of ENIGMA in The Studio this July.
This show will give audiences an exciting and rare opportunity to view his original working 1944 4-rotor ENIGMA machine (the same machine loaned for use in the 2014 film The Imitation Game starring Benedict Cumberbatch, to ask Dr Mark Baldwin questions and then see a hands-on demonstration of one of the very few surviving ENIGMA machines.
