Supporting Future Talent
We’re very excited that 2024 is already shaping up to offer opportunities that support future theatrical talent. Our creative learning team have opened applications for our Work Experience Week (Mon 17 Jun to Fri 21 Jun) for Year 9, 10 and 11’s and we have also launched two new Early Year’s Rep groups.
Our week long work experience returns for young people who are considering a career in the arts and want to have a better understanding of what working in a theatre might be like.
The week will include opportunities to meet theatre professionals, practitioners and creatives within the industry and gain insight into how a successful producing theatre works behind the scenes.
Successful applicants will also have first-hand experience in the broad range of careers theatre has to offer and there is a performance opportunity in The Door theatre, which will include onstage and backstage roles!
Applications are now open for students wanting to take part in the 2024 Work Experience programme.
Also, by popular demand, we are extending our current Young Rep groups to include two brand new companies for Early Years and KS1.
Young Rep Play Time is for children aged three to five (Pre-school and Reception ages) and will take place for one hour on Saturday mornings.
Young Rep Beginners is for children aged five to seven (Schools Years 1 and 2) and will also take place for one hour on Saturday mornings.
Both groups will be led by a team of our fantastic and experienced Young Rep Theatre Directors. The sessions will use drama, movement and storytelling to increase confidence, self- expression and performance skills – igniting a love of theatre from the earliest age.
Young Rep Early Years will begin from mid-February. If you would like to secure a place in either group then please sign up to our waiting list. We will contact you regarding spaces.
