BRB’s world-class dancers join the 60-piece Royal Ballet Sinfonia for a gala night of classics
BRB’s Evening of Music & Dance has long been a smash hit with audiences – and it’s back for performances in Nottingham and at Birmingham Rep with a glorious gala selection of works hand-picked especially by Carlos Acosta, BRB’s Director, and the Royal Ballet Sinfonia.
BRB’s brilliant dancers will be taking to the stage to perform such much-loved classics as the famous Bluebird pas de deux from The Sleeping Beauty and a first chance to watch a live performance of works such as Ben Stevenson’s exquisite pas de deux, End of Time. And, as ever, the music will be performed live by the full forces of the magnificent Royal Ballet Sinfonia playing popular classics with an operatic theme that include Wagner’s Ride of the Valkyries, the Waltz from Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin and the overture from Verdi’s Nabucco, all conducted by BRB Principal Conductor, Paul Murphy. The Company will also be joined by two young soloists who trained at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire who will be singing the Flower Duet from Léo Delibes’ Lakmé and an excerpt from Hansel and Gretel.
The compere for these performances will be Marverine Cole.
Join us for this uplifting celebration of music and dance.
