In the Room: The Art of Auditioning

Are you ready to elevate your audition skills and stand out in front of casting professionals? Do you want to learn what it takes to make a lasting impression and bring your character to life in the audition room? In this exclusive workshop, led by industry experts Marc Frankum, Casting Director, and Madeleine Kludje, Deputy Artistic Director at The Rep, you’ll gain invaluable insights into what casting directors look for and how to showcase your unique artistry.

This hands-on workshop will equip you with essential tools and techniques to approach auditions with confidence and clarity. It will open with an in-depth chat with Marc and Madeleine about their roles, advice, and best practices for auditions, offering a unique look into what it takes to succeed in the industry. They’ll share insider tips on how to prepare, what they expect in the room, and how to make the best impression from the moment you walk in.

Following this, each participant will have 10 minutes to perform a selected piece—provided ahead of time—in front of Marc, Madeleine, and the other participants, creating an authentic audition experience. You’ll receive personalized feedback and redirection from both experts, allowing you to refine your performance and understand how to make every moment in the room count.

To wrap up, there will be an open Q&A session, offering you the opportunity to ask questions and gather deeper insights into auditioning, character work, and the industry from two seasoned professionals.

Whether you’re new to auditions or a seasoned performer seeking fresh perspectives, don’t miss this rare opportunity! Join us at The Rep for a special session on the art of auditioning, where you’ll develop your skills and discover how to make an impact that truly resonates.
