Puppeteering for performance masterclass
This event has passed
A masterclass for artists from under-represented groups in the industry – join Caroline Partridge, performer, puppeteer, communication specialist and Puppet Centre Trust chairman, alongside Slot Machine Artistic Director Nick Tigg for a hands-on workshop in puppeteering and object manipulation for performance.
You must be over 18 with a professional performance background, but who might not yet have had extensive puppeteering experience. It’s an opportunity to learn about or improve an increasingly sought-after skill.
During the three hours you will have the opportunity to try out hands on puppeteering, using a variety of puppets and objects, and we’ll look at a variety of styles from bunraku to object manipulation.
Please note; puppeteering is hugely under-represented in global majority and disabled talent, primarily due to the lack of opportunities for these groups in the sector which puts them at a significant disadvantage. We want to enable and encourage participation from those would not ordinarily have a chance to do so and therefore are offering this particular masterclass specifically for those who identify as global majority and and/or living with a disability.
